Read Receipts

See who has read your messages with avatar indicators and reader lists. Never wonder again whether your team saw an important update.

01

Avatar Indicators

Below each message, small avatar circles show which team members have read it. Avatars appear in real time as people view the message. This gives senders immediate visibility into whether their message has been seen — critical for time-sensitive communications like campaign launch approvals or urgent client requests that need acknowledgment.

02

Reader List Detail

Click the read receipt avatars to see a full list of readers with timestamps showing when each person viewed the message. This detailed view is useful for accountability — when you send an important announcement to a channel, you can verify exactly who has seen it and follow up individually with anyone who has not, rather than resending to the entire group.

03

Unread Indicators

Channels and DMs show unread message counts in the sidebar. Bold text indicates channels with new activity, and a blue dot marks the exact position of your last-read message within a conversation. Jump to the first unread message with a single click, even in channels with hundreds of recent messages — you never have to scroll to find where you left off.

04

Privacy Controls

Read receipts can be configured at the user level. Team members who prefer not to broadcast their read status can disable receipts for their account. When disabled, their avatars do not appear in read receipt lists, and their activity does not trigger read timestamp updates. This respects individual privacy preferences while maintaining the feature for those who find it useful.
