Clients get notified when new deliverables, invoices, or updates are ready. Timely, relevant notifications that keep clients engaged without overwhelming them.
A notification center in the client portal shows all recent activity relevant to the client — new deliverables ready for review, invoice status changes, project updates, and approval requests. Notifications are marked as read when viewed and persist for historical reference. The notification badge in the sidebar shows unread count, so clients know at a glance whether something needs their attention.
Critical updates are also delivered via email using Resend. New approval requests, invoice reminders, and important project milestones trigger email notifications with direct links to the relevant portal page. Email notifications are formatted with your agency branding and include just enough context for the client to decide whether to click through or acknowledge from their inbox.
Clients can configure which notifications they receive and through which channels. Some clients want email for everything; others prefer to check the portal at their own pace and only want email for urgent items like approval requests. Preferences are per-user, so different contacts within the same client account can have different notification settings based on their role and involvement.
Your agency controls which events trigger client notifications. Configure whether clients are notified about status changes, file uploads, comment replies, or only explicit approval requests. This gives you editorial control over the client experience — you decide when clients hear about activity and what level of detail they see, keeping communication intentional rather than noisy.
