Message Forwarding

Forward messages to any channel or DM with full attribution and context preserved.

01

Forward to Any Channel

Right-click any message or use the forward action to send it to another channel or DM. A modal lets you search and select the destination. The forwarded message appears with clear attribution — showing the original sender, channel, and timestamp. Add an optional note to provide context for why you are sharing it.

02

Preserved Context

Forwarded messages retain their original formatting, attachments, and emoji reactions. File attachments are linked rather than re-uploaded so they do not consume additional storage. Thread context is noted so recipients know if the message was part of a longer conversation.

03

Multi-Channel Forwarding

Forward a single message to multiple destinations at once. Select several channels or DMs in the forward modal and the message is sent to all of them simultaneously. Each destination receives an independent copy so reactions and replies in one channel do not affect others.

04

API Endpoint

Message forwarding is backed by a dedicated API endpoint that handles permission checks, message duplication, and notification delivery. Only users with access to the source message can forward it, and forwarding respects channel membership — you cannot forward to a channel you are not a member of.
