Board-Linked Channels

Auto-created channels for boards and tasks. Board events post directly to chat, keeping your communication and project management seamlessly connected.

01

Automatic Channel Creation

When a board is created, XeroFlow can automatically create a linked chat channel for that board. Task-specific channels can also be auto-created when a task requires discussion. These channels are pre-populated with the board context — name, description, and a link back to the board — so conversations start with full context rather than requiring someone to explain what they are talking about.

02

Board Event Feed

Configure which board events post to the linked channel — status changes, new tasks, assignment changes, due date updates, or file uploads. Each event is formatted as a compact message with the relevant details and a direct link to the task. Your team sees project activity flow through chat without needing to watch the board, while the board remains the source of truth for task data.

03

Configurable Feed Settings

Not every event needs to post to chat. The BoardChatFeedSettings modal lets you fine-tune which event types generate messages. A high-activity production board might only post status changes and new tasks, while a client-facing board might post everything so account managers have a complete activity log in their chat channel.

04

Bidirectional Context

From the board, open the linked chat channel to see discussions about tasks. From chat, click any task reference to open the board panel. The task slideover includes a chat toggle that opens the relevant channel as an overlay. This bidirectional linking means context is never more than one click away, regardless of whether you started in chat or on the board.
